Success Story (6).png

Jayton and his wife are originally from the Texas Panhandle, and his family moved to Amarillo in the winter of 2020. Their kids were accustomed to playing and training outside year-round because they lived in an area where winters were mild. They called multiple gyms and churches to ask if they rented out their space for training and were shocked that there were no affordable options. They made their minds up that Amarillo needed an affordable indoor sports training facility that had turf. World All Star Academy, LLC opened in August of 2021.

America’s SBDC at WT business consultant, Ana Ramirez, suggested improvements to certain areas of the business plan he already had in place. She helped tremendously in statistical and demographic data as well.

We asked Jayton what motivates him and his answer was, “Being a better husband, dad, son, mentor, friend, and trainer than the day I was before. The student-athletes that walk through the door motivate me.” As a trainer, we also knew he would have great advice for others who want to open a small business. “You will hear ‘no’ or ‘that’s impossible’ multiple times. It’s your dream and no one else’s so believe in yourself more than you ever have before. It’s worth every sacrifice opening a small business of your own.” One of the biggest challenges he has faced is getting the business “out there,” but advertising on social media has proven to be worth it.

The most satisfying moment in business has been to see and hear the student-athletes’ success as a result of the training and mentorship they received. “It’s not and never will be about World All Star Academy. It’s about everyone that believes in and supports us. We offer private and group training for just about every sport out there.”

We also asked him some fun questions.

  • Do you offer summer camps for school-aged kids?

We look forward to hosting a kids’ camp all summer long that begins May 30th and ends August 5th from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm daily, Monday through Friday. We also offer late pick up options. Our daily agenda will be filled with speed-agility, hand-eye training sessions, and organized sports training. We won’t be training all day. We will inflate two bounce houses a few times a week. Other sport games will be fun to play like one of the most popular games in school called “Scatter Ball.” We will also have crafts and activities especially for our younger kids. We will also provide life learning lessons and mentorship daily.

  • Do you rent out your facility for birthday parties and events?

We rent out the facility for birthday parties, team training, and private events such as graduation parties, etc. Birthday party options include bounce houses, NERF gun wars, and scatter ball. We provide 3 tables and 24 chairs, and food and drinks of your choice can be brought in. We also host pro-athlete camps and have some big-time players planning to come this summer for multi-day sport camps/clinics. Last summer we worked with Michael Gallup, Brice Butler, and Cedrick Wilson.

  • What is your favorite sport and who is your current or former sports player?

My favorite sport is football, and my favorite player is Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver Michael Gallup. He’s Mr. Toe Swag and my kids call him Uncle MG. I’m very fortunate and humbled to have him as a friend and a huge supporter of World All Star Academy.
