Jon Hairston was a long-time archery enthusiast when he decided to turn his hobby into a full-time job. He and his wife, Christie, embraced this entrepreneurial venture as an opportunity to spend more time together as a family. The couple’s two young children and their dog, Copper, are often present at the store.

 

Jon and Christie opened JNC Archery & Outdoors in June of 2013, and they’ve seen many archery stores come and go in the area. They initially opened a single axe throwing pit inside the couple’s retail location, but its popularity grew so much they had to move JNC Axe Pit into its own building in 2019. JNC Archery & Outdoors assembles and sells crossbows, accessories, firearms, apparel, gifts, and more. Customers can reserve private training sessions or parties at both locations based on their interest.

 

From advice on hiring to the best way to incorporate their businesses, America’s SBDC at WTAMU has worked with Jon and Christie in their original endeavors since 2018. From their initial legal entity questions, to online marketing for increasing bookings for archery training, they have continued to take advantage of available resources to ensure their business continues to grow!
