The HUBZone program aims to fuel small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. To put that in perspective, in 2023, the federal government committed about $759 BILLION on contracts, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office. A 3% portion of that pie represents more than $22 BILLION!
In this workshop, you will learn about:
- the scope and benefits of the HUBZone program
- small business qualifications to become HUBZone eligible
- how to apply to become HUBZone certified
- required documentation
- how to maintain certification
We will also have breakout sessions on preparing eye-catching Capabilities Statements and how to qualify/apply for other underutilized business certifications, such as Women-Owned Small Business, Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, etc.
Bring business cards and your Capability Statement if you have them. It will also be an opportunity to network with other small businesses.
