"Thanks for the opportunity!"

Angela recently graduated with a degree in business  from WTAMU, and with the help of the SBDC she purchased the Golden Light Cafe and Cantina in December of 2006.  The restaurant is a local tradition, and Angela is very sensitive to maintaining her rapport with the clientele.  The Cantina has become a popular night spot with an outdoor patio and live entertainment.

Amarillo Chamber to Select 2007 Top Small Business

Nominations Invited

The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the Top Small Business Award and the Jim Henson Small Business of the Year Award.

Do you know of a local small business that always exhibits good business practices, has good employee relations and provides a great service to our community?  Then you should nominate them for one of these prestigious awards!  To compete, businesses must:

  • Be nominated. 

  • Have been headquartered in Amarillo for five years.

  • Have no more than 100 full-time employees.

  • Submit information about their operations.

  • Exhibit success in business. 

  • They do not have to be a member of the Chamber.

Finalists will receive a site visit from the judges and those who are judged to be exemplary are awarded the Top Small Business honor.  One of those is then chosen for the Jim Henson Award, the highest award of the program.

Shred two boxes of personal papers FREE at the 1st Annual Shred Fest. The Better Business Bureau, Document Shredding & Storage and the Amarillo Police Department are teaming up to fight identity theft in Amarillo.  They will also provide information on how to protect yourself, how to keep safe records, and how to stop pre-approved credit card offers. Come join KGNC and KFDA as they broadcast live and take measures to protect yourself from ID theft.
