New Grant Program

First Step Innovation Challenge

"Bridging the gap between innovation and market capability"

A new grant program has been announced by the WTAMU Enterprise Network and Amarillo Economic Development Corporation.  The First Step Innovation Challenge will encourage basic business creation and product innovation by providing small grants to pre-venture entrepreneurs.  Grants may be used for:

Primary Research

Prototype Development

bullet

Performance Testing

bullet

Test Marketing

bullet

Intellectual Property Rights Procurement

bullet

Concept Development

bullet

Other Activities deemed appropriate


The process to apply involves a brief written application which describes the product or business idea and includes details about how the money will be used.  A review committee will meet quarterly to determine how funds will be awarded.

Business: Must derive revenue from outside local trade area

Individual: Must pass credit and background checks
