Laptop Winner!

Awarded in Drawing

Ann Scamahorn of The Marketing Company of Amarillo was the winner in our Grand Prize Drawing for a new Dell Laptop computer.  Everyone who completed an evaluation at a paid seminar sponsored by the SBDC in 2004 was entered in the drawing which was conducted on December 1st.

"Dear PJ and SBDC Friends –

Not only was the seminar on E-Bay quite timely in terms of my being able to help several of my clients and friends – as well as myself – the fabulous surprise of my being drawn as the winner of the Dell laptop computer was incredibly timed. I had just lost my entire computer system and was having to replace the whole computer.

Of course, I appreciate this windfall of the moment, but I do so appreciate you all on an ongoing basis, as I attend several of your seminars a year and count them as critical in my continuing professional education.

As an independent marketing consultant working with several small firms here in Amarillo, I must be current in demographics and changing trends, in new technology, and in new avenues of product presentation – like web sites and effective e-marketing. My clients count on me to know these things, and I count on SBDC to help me!

I look forward to upcoming seminars and to seeing you all again!

May God bless you as He has truly blessed me! "

New Rule for Tax Deposits

FUTA

In an effort to reduce a burden on small business taxpayers, the IRS has announced it will increase the minimum threshold for Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) deposits to $500.  This increase is expected to reduce paperwork for more than 4 million small businesses.
