Frank Williams was a long time employee of Scott Tractor who was laid off due to downsizing.  He decided to open his own business focused on a life-long interest in hunting and the outdoors.  While Frank primarily does animal and bird mounts, his wife, Colleen, prepares fish mounts.

New Grant Program

For Ag Producers


Value-Added Producer Grants

Who Can Apply?

  • Farmers

  • Ranchers

  • Ag Cooperatives

  • Producer-based Businesses

The USDA has recently announced authorization of the Value-Added Producer Grant Program.  Grants may be used for planning activities and working capital for marketing value-added agricultural products and for farm-based renewable energy. Eligible applicants are independent producers, farmer and rancher cooperatives, agricultural producer groups, and majority-controlled producer-based business ventures.

The maximum amount that can be awarded is $500,000, and all VAPG funds must be matched by an equal amount of funds from the applicant or a third party.

Applications are currently being accepted for the program. For more information about the program, please contact Clyde Jenkins at the USDA Amarillo office, 806-468-8600.
