About the SBDC
Who We Are
We are a government agency with a mission to help small businesses succeed.
Because we receive funding from the federal government and the State of Texas, we are able to offer free and low-cost services to our clients. Services include business plan assistance, financial projections, tax information, marketing plans, seminars and workshops, feasibility studies, and research services.
Our office is one of six in the Northwest Texas SBDC Region and we assist clients in the top 25 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Our sister centers in Abilene, Granbury, Lubbock, Midland-Odessa, and Wichita Falls serve clients throughout the rest of West Texas. Not located in West Texas? No problem! There are over 1,000 SBDC across the nation with one assigned to every area of the U.S. Search online to locate the SBDC nearest you.
What We Do
Our vision is to build a culture of entrepreneurship by providing innovative education, expertise, and encouragement to business owners, entrepreneurs, and community partners.
We help people start and run businesses, and we do this in a lot of ways. We like to sit down with clients, or prospective business owners, and engage in one-on-one consulting sessions. Training, business plan writing, market research, and help with securing a loan are among the key services we provide. Aside from providing legal counsel and tax assistance, there’s hardly anything we can’t do to help your business.
How We Work With You
We work primarily on a consulting basis. If you want to take advantage of our free consulting services you will be asked to do one of two things:
1. Provide operational information on any existing business you want to discuss, or
2. Attend a short “Introduction to Business Ownership” workshop session if you are new to business.
Feel free to call us at 806-372-5151 to have a preliminary conversation, or click on the button below to begin registration as a client. The cost associated with consulting is paid for by the Small Business Administration. Our offices are open normal business hours.
