DBAs for State Filed Businesses
Businesses that operate as limited partnerships,
registered limited liability partnerships, limited liability companies,
corporations, professional corporations, nonprofit corporations, and
professional associations, and conduct business in a name other than the
name on file with the Secretary of State, should file an Assumed Name
Certificate with the Secretary of State and in the county in which the
business will have a registered or principal office.
Different forms are required for filing at the state
and county levels - you will need one of each.
